Training Policy

The White Hut Community Hall recognises the benefits of training for both Trustees and staff and encourages attendance at Training Workshops and complementary provision.

This written policy brings together previous arrangements which have not hitherto been reduced to writing.

Key areas for training are identified as being:-
• Good Governance
• Financial Management
• Communication
• Licensing of Regulated Activities, including the supply and sale of alcohol as ancillary to the charitable objects of the organisation
• Health and Safety
• Fire
• First Aid
• Energy Efficiency

The White Hut Community Hall will continue to ensure, that at least one Trustee or one member of staff has undertaken relevant training in each of these key areas and has cascaded knowledge, formally or informally, to colleagues.

The White Hut Community Hall has one Personal Licence Holders who successfully completed “industry recognised” training prior to The White Hut Community Hall securing its premises licence and is encouraging two others to undertake the course.

The White Hut Community Hall covers all fees associated with training and members are reimbursed out of pocket expenses as appropriate. Where there is guidance on the reimbursement of expenses, then The White Hut Community Hall will not knowingly go beyond that guidance.

The White Hut Community Hall recognises that all members are volunteers and may not always seek reimbursement. Those will be personal decisions and are not inconsistent with this policy.
